Tonight's Homework Is a Task You Already Have

Newcomer English homework tonight is one real errand you already have. Write one sentence you will say. Say it. Then write the reply you heard. A grammar worksheet that never leaves the table is not the homework.
A worksheet is not newcomer homework

Homework that never leaves the table does not meet a shop, clinic or school office. The errand is already on your day.
New residents often open a workbook because it feels safer than a counter. The workbook can wait. Tonight's English has to meet a person who will answer. Do not invent an emergency errand. Use the shop, clinic, school office or pickup you already planned.
Use one sentence on an errand you already have
Pick the next real errand. Write one sentence you will say. Say it. Do not add a second errand.
- Name the errand already on today's list: clinic, stall, school office, or a shop message you must send.
- Write one sentence for that place. Example: I need to change this appointment to Friday afternoon.
- Say it, or send it if the real errand is a message. Do not practise on a stranger for sport.
- Stop. A second errand is another night.
iWorld Learning's Adult Daily English page uses real-life topics such as shopping and daily interactions in small classes. Confirm live terms. The class can host more spoken turns later. It does not replace tonight's counter.
Write the reply you actually heard
After the errand, write the other person's reply in the words you heard, even if some words are missing. That line is tomorrow's listening note.
Example. You said you need Friday afternoon. You heard “After two, can?” Write After two, can? Do not correct the other person. Do not replace their words with textbook English. The missing pieces show you what to ask next time: After two o'clock, is that all right?
This is not a first-month map
No. That page describes a course. The usable-sentence page owns one week. Tonight only spends one errand.
| Page | Time span | Job |
|---|---|---|
| This page | One errand tonight | Say one sentence and write the heard reply |
| One usable sentence this week | One week | Use one sentence once in a real place |
| English course for new residents | A course overview | What a daily-life class can cover |
If you still need a week-level habit, use the usable-sentence page after tonight's errand. Confirm live Daily English terms if you later want a small live class.
FAQ
A family member can come, but they should not speak the sentence for you.
Can a family member speak for me on the errand?
They may stand with you. They should not say your sentence. The homework is your voice.
Does a WhatsApp message to a shop count?
Yes if that message is the real errand. Write the reply you received. A practice chat with a classmate does not count.
