Finish the Sentence After Someone Cuts In

Tonight is one interrupted turn. Finish the point. Do not collect another phrase list.
A phrase list dies when someone cuts in
Lists assume an empty floor. Real meetings interrupt. The skill is restarting the point, not collecting openers.
The meeting-versus-chat page already chooses the hour. Tonight assumes you are already in the meeting.
I'd like to add and just to piggyback die when the floor is gone. You need a restart, not a new opener.
Use one recovery line tonight

Write one line: Let me finish the point, then the missing fact. Use it once in a real meeting or a rehearsal with a colleague.
- Write the missing fact in six words or fewer before the meeting.
- When someone cuts in, say: "Let me finish the point." Then say the fact.
- Stop. Do not restart the whole update.
- If you have no live meeting, rehearse once with a colleague who actually interrupts.
Do not add a second speech. The recovery is one fact, not a new slide.
Keep or drop after two real meetings
Keep if the fact landed. Drop the line if two meetings still lost the point because you restarted the whole update.
A nod is not the pass test. If the minute records the fact, keep the line.
This is not the meeting-versus-chat page
That page chooses the hour. Business English may host more meeting turns if two recoveries fail. Confirm live terms.
Page | Job | Tonight? |
|---|---|---|
This recovery | Did the fact land after a cut-in? | Yes |
Meeting versus chat | Which hour to book | Another night |
Later marked meeting turns | Later |
iWorld Learning's Business English page lists workplace communication. Confirm live terms. No class promises meeting fluency.
FAQ
A bathroom rehearsal is not a meeting.
Does a rehearsal with no colleague count?
A rehearsal can write the line. The pass test is a real meeting where the fact lands.
Is this the same as choosing meeting English or everyday chat?
No. That page chooses the hour. Tonight recovers one turn.
