How Parents Decide If a Nursery Child Needs English Class

Three signals across two weeks

• Talk: the child uses any language to request and comment during play on two separate days.
• Play: the child joins a short adult-led game without shutting down on two separate days.
• Distress: English from a teacher or a book causes tears that last past the activity, on two separate days.

Tick a concern only if it repeats. One quiet visit to a relative is not a signal. A child who talks in the home language and joins play is not failing English. Write the two dates next to each signal so the week does not blur.

No option promises faster speech. If you look next, take the two-week notes with you. Ask what the session does with silence. Confirm live terms on any course page. Do not treat a K1-P1 page as proof your nursery child must start now.
