What the named Primary course actually is

Primary / Elementary School English is a Pre-A1 to B2 literacy course that trains grammar, reading, and speaking for primary-aged learners; it is not a named PSLE paper course.

The live Primary / Elementary School English page, checked 14 September 2026, lists those literacy levels and school-skill practice. It does not outline Writing, Language Use, Listening, and Oral as a product. Do not invent a PSLE course name to sit beside it. The courses index still shows six named courses only.

What a PSLE English course would have to cover

A PSLE English course would have to train the four national papers that SEAB examines: Writing, Language Use and Comprehension, Listening, and Oral.

• Writing: SEAB's 17 July 2026 media reply describes Paper 1 as Situational Writing and Continuous Writing in 1 hour 10 minutes, with Continuous Writing at least 150 words.
• Language Use and Comprehension: the paper that tests language and reading on the national paper.
• Listening: the listening paper in the same English Language subject.
• Oral: the oral paper in the same subject.

SEAB's 2026 PSLE formats page lists English Language as subject code 0001. The four paper names above follow SEAB wording, including a 17 July 2026 media reply for Paper 1. No AL-band or score promise follows from naming those papers.

Lower-primary foundations can sit in Primary / Elementary School English; P5–P6 paper tactics are a different job the six-course list does not name.

A P1 or P2 child who needs grammar, reading, and speaking still matches the named literacy course. That match does not turn the same page into PSLE tuition when the child reaches P5. If the gap is now paper tactics, say so plainly. The six-course list still does not name a PSLE class, so the next step is a consultation about the real gap, not a fake exam product.
