This Week's Paper Does Not Need a New Topic

This week reuses last paper. Copy the teacher's named mistake. Do not open a new topic before this week's paper.

A new topic hides last paper's mistake

A new topic feels like progress. Last paper's named mistake stays unpractised.

A new assessment book looks busy. The last red comment is still sitting in the file. The Sec 3 common-test page already opens last common test before O-Level. Tonight is a primary weekly paper, not a year plan.

Do not treat a school paper as the national PSLE paper. Confirm the live school paper in the bag.

Write last paper's named mistake

Open last marked English paper. Copy the teacher's named mistake in one sentence. That sentence is this week's only practice.

  1. Open last marked English paper, not a new booklet.
  2. Copy the named mistake. Example: answers were not in full sentences.
  3. Practise only that sentence this week. One rewrite is enough tonight.
  4. Stop. Do not start cloze if the comment was about full sentences.

A usable sentence looks like this: write the because-half. A tick with no words is not a named mistake. Ask the teacher once, then wait.

Keep that mistake or drop the new topic

Keep if this week's practice matches that sentence. Drop a new topic if two school comments still name the same mistake.

A finished new booklet is not the pass test. If last week and this week both say inference, the new grammar book hid the week.

This is not the Sec 3 common-test page

No. That page is Secondary 3. Tonight is this week's primary paper.

FAQ

A new assessment book is another night.

May we start a new assessment book if last paper felt easy?

Not this week. Last paper's named mistake is the only practice.

Is this the same as opening last Secondary 3 common-test paper?

No. That page is Sec 3. Tonight is a primary weekly paper.
