Word. The sentence you found. One new sentence of your own. The next place you will use it (meeting, email, or school gate).

1. The word, or the whole chunk if the source used a phrase.
2. The sentence you found it in, copied as written.
3. One new sentence of your own, in the same part of speech.
4. The next place you will use it: a meeting, an email, or the school gate.

No decoration. No colour code. If field four is blank, the card is not finished. Leave the rest of the notebook closed.

Reuse the word once within 24 hours

Say or write the own-sentence in a real message. Pass if the word still fits. Fail if you only reread the card. A flashcard app without a reuse is still a list.

Card: "defer" / "We will defer the decision until Friday." / "Can we defer the vendor call to next week?" / "Tuesday stand-up".

Pass: you actually say that line in the stand-up. Fail: you highlight the card again at night and never speak. A second card only if the first word was already reused.
