Compare Classes on the Same Marked Component

Compare two PSLE English classes with the same marked-component question. Ask how that component is marked this week and what comes back written. Class size and warmth cannot compare the two hours.

Generic centre questions cannot compare

Two centres can quote the same class size and still mark different things. Comparison starts from one named component.

The generic parent-evaluate page lists centre questions. Those questions can describe a centre. They do not force both teachers to answer the same paper task. Do not rank centres on this page. SEAB's 0001 listing names the 2026 PSLE English Language paper. That code does not rank tuition.

Ask both classes the same component question

Name one component from the last school paper. Ask each class how that component is marked this week and what comes back written.

1. Open the last school English paper. Name one component: continuous writing, situational writing, comprehension, or oral.
2. Ask class A: how is this component marked this week, and what comes back written?
3. Ask class B the same two parts, in the same words.
4. Write both answers side by side. Do not turn 0001 into a promised Achievement Level.

If you cannot name a component from a school paper, you are not ready to compare. Get the paper first. A brochure list of “all components” is not a named component.

Keep the class that marks the named component

Keep the class that names the component and a written return. Wait if both answers stay at more practice.

• Keep the class that names the component and says what written work returns this week.
• Wait if both answers are “more practice” or “we cover everything”.
• Keep asking if only one class answered and the other has not yet replied.
