How Parents Judge What a P4 Writing Class Covers

A Primary 4 writing class should leave a plan, a finished problem, and one marked line the child can use. Judge that from the last two stories, not the brochure. Tonight you tick those three signals. Then you choose keep, add a home constraint, or look next.
Coverage means the last two stories, not the brochure
A P4 writing class should leave a plan, a finished problem, and one specific marked line. A worksheet pack without those three is not coverage.
Do not rank centres. Ignore stickers, word-count praise, and a list of model titles. Those are sales, not evidence.
Tick the two latest stories
Open the last two marked pieces. Tick plan visible, ending that closes the same problem, and one comment the child can act on.
- Plan visible: a short spoken or written plan that names the problem and the ending before the story starts.
- Story finish: the last lines close the same problem, not a new trip after "The End".
- Marked line: one comment the child can act on next time, such as "the ending starts a new event".

Open the last two marked pieces only. A missing plan on one story is a watch, not an automatic switch. Write the date next to each tick so last term does not blur into this one.
Keep, add a home constraint, or look next
Keep if two of three ticks hold on both stories. Add a home plan-then-stop if the class talks well but stories still stall. Look next only if both stories still have no finish after four weeks.
Choice |
When it fits |
What you do |
|---|---|---|
Keep |
Two of the three ticks hold on both stories |
Stay. Do not add a second class |
Add a home constraint |
The class talks well, but stories still stall |
Plan the problem and ending, then stop, before the next draft |
Look next |
Both stories still have no finish after four weeks |
A visit or trial, not a year-long lock |
Do not switch after one weak week. No option promises a composition band. If you look next, take the two stories with you and ask how the teacher marks a finish.
This is not a PSLE model class
No. P4 still needs a finished school story. A PSLE picture-theme class that only copies models is the wrong coverage.
Class type |
What it trains |
P4 coverage? |
|---|---|---|
School-story class |
Plan, finish, one marked line |
Yes, this is the test |
PSLE picture-theme mill |
Copied models |
No. Wrong year, wrong product |
Vocabulary list only |
Words without a finish |
No. Not coverage on its own |
iWorld Learning's Primary School English page currently lists 3-6 person groups and a trial. Confirm live terms. No class promises a writing grade. Use a class only if two stories still have no plan and no finish.
FAQ
Is one unfinished story enough to switch class?
No. Watch four weeks and both latest stories. Switch only if both still have no finish. One weak piece is a watch.
Does a vocabulary list count as coverage?
Not on its own. Coverage is a plan, a finish, and a marked line the child can use. Words without those three do not prove the class worked.
