Tonight tests the P1 hour by one reread. The child reads one line. You do not supply the sentence.

A full bag can still leave no line

A bag of papers proves sitting. A P1 hour works when the child can reread one line without the teacher.

The worksheet-bag page already counts papers. Tonight does not count. It asks whether one line came home in the child's mouth.

Do not invent a P1 mark scheme. A sticker is praise. It is not a reread.

Ask for one line after the hour

Open one paper from the bag. Ask the child to read one line. You sit. You do not supply the sentence.

1. Pick the shortest paper, not the prettiest worksheet.
2. Point to one line the class used. Ask the child to read it.
3. You may model one word, then stop. Do not finish the line.
4. Write yes or no. Close the bag. Do not start homework from the bag.

A usable line is I see a red bus. A parent reading the whole line is not a reread.

Keep the hour or look later

Keep if one line comes home. Look at a live Primary English hour later only if two hours produce no reread.

A sticker is not the pass test. If the child rereads the line after one modelled word, keep the hour.
