Cut the English Hour That Never Comes Back Marked

Tonight cuts one English hour. Keep the hour that returned a marked line. Drop the hour that never came back marked.

More hours can hide an unmarked class

A second English hour that never returns a marked sentence only adds sitting time. The leak stays unmarked.

Burnout lists talk about moods and headaches. Those are real. They are not tonight's test. The ticks-are-not-teaching page already judges a returned script. Tonight only asks whether a script returned at all.

There is no official hour cap. A tired Sunday is data. It is not a marked line.

Name the hour that leaves no marked line

List this week's English hours. Circle the one with no marked sentence. That hour is the candidate to drop.

  1. Write every English hour from Monday to Sunday. Leave maths off the list.
  2. For each hour, write one marked sentence that came home, or write none.
  3. Circle the hour with none. If two hours have none, circle the later one first.
  4. Stop after one circled hour. Do not rebuild the whole week.

A usable line looks like this: the tutor wrote add a full stop after the speech. A tick row with no comment is still empty for tonight.

Keep the marked hour or drop the empty one

Keep the hour that returned a marked line. Drop the empty hour if two weeks still produce no marked sentence.

Tiredness alone is not the pass test. If the child is exhausted and the hour still returns a named error, keep that hour and cut something else tomorrow.

This is not the JC-hours page

No. That JC hours page counts unmarked essays for a different stage. The need-help signs page asks whether a gap exists. Tonight only cuts one unmarked primary English hour.
